Prof. Oszczak expressed thanks to Dr Zofia Rzepecka for her activity as a WG Secretary. Due to her leave of the team of Satellite Navigation he proposed  MSc Adam Ciecko for a new Secretary of the Working Group. Everyone agreed for A. Ciecko.

Sofia in November was proposed for the next meeting. Prof. Manzoni said it could be not convenient because it would be a middle of semester.  Prof. Graczka proposed Budapest for the next meeting in September 2001 or in the spring time. The final date and place of the next meeting will be fixed.

Prof. Manzoni took a floor and presented a speech concerning the results of the meeting:

            Conclusions and Proposals

1. Several members of the Working Group have reported results on the accuracy, availability, feasibility, continuity and viability of different DGPS and DGLONASS modes by using DGPS and sometimes phase data for RTK, diffused on:

The reported results depended on the geography of the test area: mountainous or flat, open or urban or forest.

Low frequency as well as satellite based high frequency are feasible for vehicle positioning with a metre accuracy in wide areas. High frequency terrestrial based transmission are feasible for restricted areas, mainly inside the cities. GSM has the added advantage of two way data transmission.

The Working Group stresses once more the importance of these researches and gives to a committee formed by members of WG the task to prepare as soon as possible a detailed report with recommendations (proposals) for the national and international authorities, telecommunication experts and manufacturers to produce in very short term DGPS user terminals operable in the whole CEI area.

2. In order to support the report mentioned in point 1, Working Group  considers highly valuable experiments carried on in cooperation among the members. Such as done in 1999 in cooperation between Austria, Czech Republic, Italy, Poland. The Working Group will ask for the international support to extend the cooperation to other CEI members.

3. Special projects in road surveying as well as in environmental monitoring having satellite positioning as essential tool will have an important role in increasing the cooperation among the members of the Working Group and therefore are highly recommended.  The Working Group members are invited to communicate the list of their available equipments.

Prof. Graczka noticed there is a problem in getting technical detailed information about European Satellite Systems GALILEO, GNSS/2. He asked everyone who is in possession of any materials to make them public. Prof. Oszczak informed that there is some information concerning European Satellite Systems in conference materials from GNSS 2000 – Edinburgh.

Discussion between Prof. Oszczak, Prof. Graczka, Prof. Zablotskyj and Prof. Langley about Satellite Systems – GPS, Glonass, GALILEO.

Request to members of the Group to prepare the  proposals concerning the future work and projects held by members of WG. Proposals can be distributed by e-mail to all members of the WG.

Participants of the meeting thanked Prof Oszczak for invitation and participation in the Meeting.
